SCA (WA)’s representations to government on key strata issues continued this month with State President, Catherine Lezer, attending a meeting at the offices of WA Commerce Minister Amber Jade-Sanderson.
Ms Lezer met with the Minister’s Principal Policy Adviser to discuss a range of issues including the licensing of strata managers, progress on a strata helpline and the need for higher standards to protect against building defects.
The meeting came after a delegation of Ms Lezer, National President Andrew Chambers, and past WA President Scott Bellerby met with WA Lands Minister Tony Buti in May.
Other issues discussed at this month’s meeting in West Perth included the high insurance premiums affecting Northern Australia and levy problems affecting mixed-use Perth complexes under the Perth Parking Management Act.
Ms Lezer also took the opportunity to explain the important role of SCA (WA) in the State’s strata industry.
She said the association looked forward to more talks with government and a productive, ongoing relationship.
