The WA government has contacted SCA (WA) regarding the association’s recent request for clarification on how strata occupations and services will be affected by the mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy.
The government advised SCA (WA) it was waiting for the public health orders surrounding the mandate to be finalised before proceeding to provide a definitive answer.
It will keep the association updated.
The WA government announced a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy on 20 October 2021. The new policy outlines an overarching phased approach to many occupations and workforces within WA.
Updated forms
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety has updated two forms for work affecting other land.
New versions of the BA20 — Notice and request for consent to encroach or adversely affect and BA20A — Notice and request for consent — protection structures, party walls, removal of fences, access to land forms have been approved and published by the Building Commissioner.
The department says the changes followed requests from industry for clarity in cases where consent or a court order was not required for the removal of fences.
It says this has been addressed by including an advice note reflecting the requirements under Section 80 of the Building Act 2011 at Part 4 of the BA20A form that deals with removal of fences.
