The State Government is undertaking a five‑year statutory review of the WA Strata Titles Act 1985. The review will be completed across two public consultation periods, the first in October 2024 and the second in the first half of 2025.

The review aims to expand on the legislative updates made in 2020 to make strata clearer and fairer for WA strata owners, residents, and strata professionals. The review will be focussing on three key themes:

1. Improving cost controls in strata titles schemes

2. Enhancing strata living

3. Strata manager practice and standards​

 

Phase one of the consultation period closes on Thursday, 31 October 2024. SCA (WA) encourages members to provide individual submissions to Landgate to support the sector. To assist in this, SCA (WA) has provided a copy of our draft submission below for members to utilise or adapt.
